Finding a career at the present is a bit of a battle with all the government cost cutting and the effects on economy by the recent recession. Many large companies have either closed down or have made cut backs to their work force in order to save money and lower there expenses. Are things going to improve? The latest announcement by the head of the bank of England said "we in in the middle of a seven year recovery" not good news for those who are struggling at the present. So what can you do? I decided to retrain after spending most of my life in the building trade which at the moment is dead in the water as work go’s.

I decided I wanted a change of occupation, and the area in which I chose to retrain was the SEO industry. So I decided to search for a training course and gain a new certification in this discipline. Guess what? There are no courses with a recognised qualification out there. The staff in the local job centre haven’t heard of SEO and don’t even acknowledge it as a job. So I decided to train myself I thought that my only route is to help myself and I started developing a portfolio of the sites that I have marketed.

My first site is a web site that deals in jobs in Liverpool and it is doing quite well at the present. The site has a first page ranking for a variety of quality keywords that are linked with the Liverpool jobs market. One of these keyword phrases is jobs in Liverpool which is a high completion key phrase. I have just made it on to the first page of Google for this term. I am constantly working on my project and building a nice little portfolio and when the time is right I am going to start applying for some of the SEO opportunities that I see advertised.

I know this will not take place quickly but if I stay targeted I will get to where I want to be, good things come to those who wait as the adage goes. My other option is to take a occupation that I have to take just for the cash something that I never want to do.
